21st September 2011 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Estuary Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 25-35 knots Surf / Sea State: Choppy Air Temperature: 15ºC Sea Temperature: 14ºC Weather: Sunny Max Speed: 32.22 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 16.13 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) A lovely windy and sunny day in the estuary. Graham came out for a sial and played around in the shallows trying to remember how to do it and get to grips with things. Dave and Sarah came out too. I went out on my Mistral Red Dot slalom board and 5.2m Warp to sart with but it was a little too choppy and mad out there for those sorts of speeds so I came back in and changed down to a 4.5m sail with my JP Wave board. This was OK if a little underpowered in the lulls but it was more manageable in the gusts and a little more comfortable too. All in all a good few hours blasting around the estuary in the sunshine. Nice. |
